Ironforge is the capital city of the dwarves. It is am intricate circular cavern carved into the mountains of Dun Morogh, with a massive forge near flight paths at the center. It is primarily populated by dwarves, but there is a strong gnomish presence in Tinker Town, as well as humans traveling via the Deeprun Tram. It was quite popular for Alliance players in the past to idle on the bridge between the AH and the bank to show off their new gear.

In 4.1, players were able to access Old Ironforge, a series of caverns below the city that featured a monument to the previous ruler, Magni Bronzebeard--now frozen in ice.
